Hello,
Solved! Go to Solution.
the 3G bands
3G frequencies
MT15i | HSDPA 900 / 2100 |
MT15a | HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 / 800 |
in other words, if you live in the US
MT15i will work with Tmobile and MT15a with AT&T
the i version works with most countries all over the world and the a version mostly the americas
Thank you very much again, uliwooly-wooly! 😃
Do you think there will be any problem if I use a firmare for MT15i on my MT15a? I use the 2100 3G frequence.
you are only using the firmware the 3G bands stay the same. I know that for a fact on other Xperias so if you use MT15i software on MT15a, it will work as an MT15a
Thank you again! =D
anytime
Sorry, but incorrect.
T-Mobile uses the AWS band which is 1700 MHz. Not supported by the "i" version nor the "a" version. There is no 3G T-Mobile (US) compatible version. The 900/2100 MHz 3G bands are used in Europe and Asia primarily.
T-mobile USA utilize
2G/Edge 850 MHz / 1900 MHz
3G/H 1700 MHz / 2100 MHz
Since your original reply referred to the "3G" frequencies, it implies that both AT&T and T-Mobile will work on 3G with this phone.
AT&T will get 3G with the "a" version only. T-Mobile will get 2G only with either version.
