Coating of the back peeling off

Hi,

i got my new Xperia T LT30P for now about 6 weeks (i think) and i recognized that the matte coating of the phones back is peeling off at the edges. It didnt get any scratches and it didn't fall a single time. I made some pictures of the spots:

Is the coating of the Xperia T smartphones just of bad quality? It shouldn't be normal that it looks like that after just a couple of weeks!

Greetings

David

The problem has been identified and a fix is in place. I suggest that you contact your local support team to have your phone fixed at an repair center. This will be covered within your warranty as long as you are within your warranty period and if no mechanical abuse is present.

Contact Sony and make a warranty claim... may be a defective device?

Hello David317,

Exactly the same thing is happening to my Xperia T after only 1 week!! (coating flaking off on the corners) I posted on the forum yesterday and got a response from another user that they'd had their Xperia T 6 weeks and had no issues like this this so far.

I visited the network phone shop this afternoon and they took some pictures and said they'd take the issue up with the distributor and get back to me... Must be an issue with a batch of them?

Hello Johan,

I reported the same problem in a thread a few days ago.

Well here are some pictures of my phone! As you can see the coating is flaking off. I have returned it to the shop and they have sent it back to the supplier who, I hope, will see that this is not acceptable and replace please?

Slightly_frowning_Face This phone costs me a lot of money upfront and monthly so...

I would really like to hear back from anybody on this forum who has had their Xperia T for 5 or more weeks and HASN'T had this problem so we can know it's not an issue with ALL Xperia T's just a bad batch.

Mine looks exactly the same.

I just hope that they will replace it with a proper phone. As per my other queries these last six weeks have been my first experience of android and Sony, and certainly the last - this is just the icing on the cake. As symbian is unfortunately no longer readily available, the only other choice is Windows, so I'm going to explore that option. If not then I'm going to be back on this board to at least try to get to the bottom of what this phone can actually do - even the experts don't seem to know how it works!

Well, I quite like Android but everybody is different Westpisk and you're perfecly entitled to prefer another OS Winking_Face This problem with the coating is real shame as I was so looking forward to treating myself to a top-end smartphone for the first time after deciding the s3 was too commonplace. I opted for the FAR more sytlish Xperia T and apart from the wear issue I've been very happy with it although this problem has slightly spoiled my initial euphoria over obtaiting this phone Slightly_frowning_Face
