Auto Brightness feature not working.

Hi Team,

i Have an XP SP with the latest official update of 4.1.2 and build number of 12.0.A.2.254 ,even though i select the option of auto brightness adjest ment in the display options of Settings the feature doesnt seem to work .I mean to say when i walk out to place with direct sunlight were the auto mode for brightness is to increase the brightness of the Display it Does'nt.

Is It a problem with just my phone or all the other phones of SP as well.

Kindly let me a solution .Does this issue be resolved in the awaited 4.3 update for SP?

Sony auto brightness working for me without any problem in 205 firmware. Place the brightness slider at middle portion and turn on the auto brightness. Now check it under sunlight by covering and un covering the light sensor by your finger. The light sensor is located near to ur front camera.

My phone was automatically updated to 207 firmware (still 4.3). Auto Brightness simply decrease brightness a bit and have no correlation with light sensor. Aside of that I verified that sensors returns reasonable measurements. Thus I assume this is issue of Sony customized firmware.

Today I saw on page Xperia SP software updates that Android 4.2 update 2014-02 is the latest and final one. I hate this when support for old phones is dropped.

My old Samsung Galaxy S1 stopped and Android 2.3 and I had to move to CyanogenMod to get support for newer apps. I end up with situation when my 4-year old phone runs 4.4.2 and most features works better than in my brand new (this year bought) Sony Xperia SP C5302 running 4.3, released year ago and announcing it as at the end of life with such a simple features like brightness being broken...
