2g works slower in jb much slower

Does anyone hve problem with 2g in jb update . It seems slower . Nd stops many times.its slower than ics much much slower. Are there anyone else have thia problem? Plz say. I m frm India

Seems to me that Jelly Bean update is favouring more towards 3G than 2G. Other makes also find this issue but less reported since more are using 3G nowadays.

2G is already more than 10 years old and like Windows XP, I think it's slowly being phased out. Furthermore with 4G slowly being launched globally, newer software will tend to gear itself towards latest technology.  Here is a comparision on speed between 3G speed vs Edge.

Nevertheless, Sony seems to be popular among users still using 2G as their main connecting network and should work on trying to twig Jelly Bean to be more user friendly for 2G network.

Millions still using 2G as main net, I'm myself living in Ukraine, and here we have only 1 3G Network and it cannot cover all the country, so there is 2G national roaming where is no 3G covering. in ICS all works perfect

i dnt think they will listen to us or we will get any bug fixes for time being    as xperia zu is going to be launched on 25 nd latter they will start updating sets with 4.2.2    so for month 2-3 no updates coming

   i downgraded to ics   nd will upgrade aftr i get my 3g sim

Pointless asking them since its very likely a Jelly Bean inherited issue because you have no problem when using ICS. Decision to allow 3G to gain access to bandwidth that 2G used to rule maybe the issue so like Uber-cool maybe it's time to change SIM to 3G.

ha ha right bearings  but its nt jb related problem   as jb roms works fine no 2g issue  its in the software created by sony

Here in Macedonia the 3G (automatically chosen) is working really well!

But, if I change to 2G (manually chosen) it's not working.

I don't care too much for the data internet, since I'll be using it only this month... 🙂
