So hi!
Since Saturday I have the Sony Xperia L, but since Wednesday it has restarted allot
It mainly happpens when i'm on my SIM-network (T-Mobile Netherlands).
I allready emtied the cache of all my apps, deleted Chrome and installed Firefox, and updated to the latest A.1.14
Again it mainly happends when i'm on my SIM-Network, on WiFi it has not happened yet.
I have a MICROSIM in a converter to SIM.
I asked T-Mobile for a normal one, but it cost me 20 euro, so instead I want to be sure it's realy not something else.
Please help me!

Remove whatsapp .... their latest update seems to be doing this.
Man You just saved my life.
I AM USING SONY XPERIA L SINCE JULY 2013. SINCE FEW DAYS BACK MY PHONE
@iMic wrote:I have experienced the same restarting issue on my Xperia L over the past 3 months, it will do this numerous times over a couple of days before settling down again for a few weeks before it starts doing it again. I am starting to lose faith in this phone and am close to switching to another brand.
OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
I VISITED LOCAL SONY MOBLE SERVICE CENTRE ON 15OCT14, THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM BUT AFTER 4DAYS IT IS RESTARTING ALL OVER AGAIN. UNABLE TO GO TO SAFE MODE. HAVE TO VISIT SERVICE CENTRE AGAIN.
I AM FEELING FRUSTRATED, NEED TO BACK UP SOME IMPORTANT DATA.
ANY HELP?
Hi All,
Same problem here. It occurred first after a Sony update to a new Android version about a year ago. Since then only problems with frequent reboots. It happened more and more, sometimes even each 5 minutes and then few hours stable. So I decided to flash the phone to CyanogenMod 11. Even now the problem is still there. So it seems to be more hardware related.
The problem only occurs in the combination:
- T-Mobile NL network and sim (4 year old sim and new sim). With German SimYo and KPN network and sim not any problem!
- 3G enabled (with or without WiFi enabled and active). In 2G mode it will not reboot, sometimes some weird things happen (can be modding feature), but no reboot and phone crashes.
- It happens typically after a phone call, or when moving and the phone switches network.
- It seems also that if other T-Mobile phones are in the neigbourhood, more reboots occur.
Still to try:
- a foreigh simcard and log-on the T-Mobile network (NL)
- remove Google Apps (Play store etc.). I already tried a clean phone without any 3rd party app!
Other things done:
- made it warm and cold, no influence
Cheers!
Problem seems to be solved!
After dissbling all google app/play services, the phone kept on rebooting. But only few times and typical during the night.
I tried something else; the app "Permission Manager". With this app you can block permissions to specific apps. It also report how many times an app uses e.g. location. It showed >4000 times that Google play services and cLock was fetching my location. The location was based on GPS, WiFi, network, etc. So I blocked it. Since then, no reboot for alomost two weeks!
Few days ago, I allowed again all apps to use the location. And also no reboots are taking place also. So, I am a bit confused. But I can also see that the apps do not fetch the location that frequent anymore (only when I start them by myself).
Therefore I am quite confident that the frequent location polling bij the Google services apps and maybe cLock is causing the frequent reboot. This is in combination with the T-Mobile 3G+ network in NL. Maybe some location information from different sources is conflicting and trigger a crashing or rebooting phone.
Cheers!
i'm having the same problem on the same network.
i was looking for that permission manager app, but there are multiple options and i cant find how to make it report how many times an app uses location. also it seems in the apps i've tried that play services cant be changed or it doesn't show up in the list at all.
i see an app by steelworks and one by permission manager.
how does your solution work so far?
no more reboots?
it's been annoying me for 2 years now, right since i bought it.....
It's still working stable, no reboots at all. I use the app "Permission Manager" from "Appaholics". This app only works after rooting your phone.
I got one problem so far; that was when I wanted to use a ski-tacker using some google stuff... Back home on the T-Mobile network I got reboots again, after blocking Location access for google apps and play store, it is stable again.
Note that I am also running CM11, not the offical Sony Android.
tried to find that permission manager, but it only seems to work for android 4.3, which i guess your CM11 is?
i'm trying xprivacy now (rooted device needed), but it doesn't seem to have a log function, so i'm flying blind a little bit. hopefully i can find that bug.
i've disabled location acces to google play services and google play store, so we'll see what happens.
thanks for the help so far! i'll keep everyone posted.
