Hi.
I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..
I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173
Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...
Now I have some questions for Sony:
1. Do you recognize this problem?
2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?
3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?
Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31
Really Sony, it would be so easy as create an small aplication which:
1. erases every period of time core/damp files
2. sends the core/damps files to an accesible memory to be erased by the user in case doesn´t wants to analize this files.
So simple. Core Damps are unsuseful for normal users. I see in the end solution will be to root. I have some hope in a next updating because it seems Xperia J has problems too, at least i found so in spanish forums.
Hi. I am from the Philippines and having the same issue as well. I bought the phone last month and started to have the same issue about 2 weeks ago. I am not using Spotify so that would be out of the question for me. I am planning to go to a service center this weekend and have high hopes that the folks here would be a bit more emphatic than the guys you have there.
Still trying to do some test on the phone to find a work-around until a fix available but it is really hard to do anything since i dont want to lose the warranty on this phone. I also just ordered bunch of Sony accessories so i am really hoping that SONY can fix this soon.
Mine has just started doing it now. 1.5gb memory. 500mb on apps. A missing GB of memory. Read through a lot of the posts on this and to be honest, I don't understand a great deal of what is being said. But any very simple advice would be much appreciated
It doen't helps, I deleted every application I have installed on the phone and memory was still lost.
I'll try disabling STAMINA mode during some time to see what happens as someone suggested.
Hello Xperia L users,
Its not difficult for me to guess how you all are feeling at the moment. For those of you who are willing to wait for Sony to release an update to fix this glitch or return your money or do something to fix this issue, I am sorry, I have nothing fresh for you. But those of you who are willing to move an extra step forward and get the resolution rightaway, follow this link - http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-L/The-way-to-solve-memory-full/m-p/369655/highlight/false#M1807
But be aware, you will lose the warranty of your phone and your phone might even get "bricked". However I realised that my phone was already bricked ever since it got infected with this bug. Now my phone works like a charm as I did only what was mentioned by Kaisa and nothing more. So go ahead and take your own decision after making a thorough research, and I am hopeful you will be as excited as me when you get to use your phone, your way and not making yourself satisfied with limited use.
P.S - I can now install games like NFS MW and Asphalt 8 Airborne and many other apps, as I do not need to be bothered with the device memory of my Xperia L anymore. Cheers!
Well,
the admin Johan edited my message so, at least, he´s reading. I´ve sent and email and I´ve talk via chat with an assistant explaining everything it´s said here and gave the link to them. If i recieve some answer I will tell here. I bought my mobile two weeks ago and I would´nt like to root so soon.
I also won't like to root, I have bought previously an xperia mini and it also had problems with software. In that case an official update of the phone software disbled the notification light! So it was always turn off. Like in xperia L in stamina mode, it disable the notification light. At least it should let the user decide whether if he would like it on or off.
