Device memory full in xperia L

Hi.

I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..

I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173

Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...

Now I have some questions for Sony:

1. Do you recognize this problem?

2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?

3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?

Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31

what does the guarantee says about this?

can i just have my money back?

can i change it for another model?

really tired of being "careful" with the apps when ive just used less than 1/3 of the capacity.

what is the sense of ask for a solution in here "the official sony support forum" if they apparently doesnt even read what we write in this "xperia CAre mhhhh" page?

Hi guys, im from Brazil, and I have the same issue with my Xperia L that i bought two months ago.

I just rooted the phone and deleted the data\core and data\crash folders with Rootexplorer, and the lost memory problem disappeared.

Its obvious that its a system problem, because all over the world the phones are showing this issue.

I hope that Sony fix this problem in the near future, and i will keep following this thread in order to find permanent solutions.

Guys,

thanks for saving me in the nick of time. i was just about to buy an Xperia L online, before which i thought to look at reviews.

looking at the 300 odd posts, i am not going to buy this faulty product. going for Samsung instead. hope you get your refunds soon.

The worst thing is that this phone is far better than similar cost Samsung but the crappy software ruins everything. I also see another phone for changing this one for the same price but I still prefer this buggy one. If I would chose another one I think I would try NOKIA.

This must be really shameful for Sony. More than 3 months into the issue but no solution! Hats off Sony!!!

Hi all,
After a week being root I can confirm that everything works properly. You only need to delete data/Core ante data/crash when you have low memory and you get back all.

This is not the ideal solution but for me is best than a factory reset.
