Device memory full in xperia L

Hi.

I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..

I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173

Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...

Now I have some questions for Sony:

1. Do you recognize this problem?

2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?

3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?

Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31

hi guys, Feri-Reza has found out solution for this.. I have followed the steps by him and got rid of the problem.. AND don't use 3rd party cache cleaning apps like 'app to sd pro'.. if u want to clear the cache use 'settings>Apps' to clear the cache manually..All credits to feri-reza..

Just follow the steps
1.Go to Settings>Apps>All>Media storage
2.clear data
3. force stop
4. disable
5.enable
Now open walkman or album there 'll be 'no files'. now switch off and switch on the mobile.

Now open settings>apps.. in the options menu find ' reset app preferences' and reset it.

Now open walkman or album. there u ll see ur files

Check ur internal memory . it will be recovered.

Now you have to set your ringtone and notification tone manually again, in settings> sounds since it has been erased while u clear the media storage..

you can plug in to your computer.. you can install 3rd party apps. No problem will come..

still you are not able to recover the memory.. do a factory reset.. install ur apps back.. then follow the steps..

@Ricky27, If it is not recovering, Backup your apps and data using Inbuilt backup & restore app..do a factory reset.. restore your apps.. then try the steps..there will not be further decrease in memory.(I have done this only).I have used walkman, album and other apps.. the memory is not decreasing (Dont move media apps like mxplayer to internal storage. keep them in device memory itself).. 3days without loss of single mb memory for me.

Hi Swaminathan

I planned to buy a Xperia L,

what do you suggest after your experience.

is this problem chronic (deal with it EVERY NOW and THEN and keep "managing") kind

or - solve it by rooting or following reza's steps -  for jJUST ONCE  and forget about the problem recurring.

Hi Ramesh,

This I think this memory problem will be corrected in a update (Due to some reason this device is not clearing the temporary files, which buildup and eating up memory)..Except this and camera flash getting over exposed, i did not encounter a single problem..it is good buy at this price range or..u can go for xperia sp
