Device memory full in xperia L

Hi.

I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..

I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173

Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...

Now I have some questions for Sony:

1. Do you recognize this problem?

2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?

3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?

Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31

Sony in Spain, does not recognize the problem. Yesterday I received an embarrassing email from questions.es @ support.sonymobile.com where they proposed solutions like "move applications to the internal memory, or transfer photos and videos to external SD".

Angered by this, I call them by phone. This time at least, they listened to me. The guy recognized that what I was telling seemed a problem, and that they had had similar complaints. But that was not considered by Sony as a general problem of the Xperia L, It could only be treated as a particular problem of my device.

The only solution that he offered was to send the phone back to Official Service, this time through another store that has agreed repairs or Sony devices with a different workshop.

I think this is a way to buy time and, at least for now, I do not want to be another 10 to 15 days without mobile for nothing.

still no word from the staff ??

This is disappointing...:(

The local sony support centre is probably the worst..I reported the problem to them, & they performed a factory reset & gave me the device saying : they solved the problem..

Can you believe it ?? Slightly_frowning_Face

This topic should be posted to thousands of web blogs as a warning
to anybody considering buying a sony mobile phone. Their service centers
are a joke. You would have more luck trying to fix problems yourself.

At least  Sony staff is following this thread, because they're editing peoples messages Slightly_smiling_Face What  ashwin21's message originally said?

I'm at the point from where I can only continue with consumer advicers. Just need to get my phone back from the service... 3,5 weeks wasted in the second service already Slightly_smiling_Face so happy.

Darn it would be nice just to get my money back or a new phone. Then I could just forget that Sony ever existed.

I'm getting really fed up with Sony's lack of engagement and action on this. The only advice I've had so far was to run the repair program via my pc, which I did without improving the memory loss and having to go through the factory reset again and again. They then asked me to send my handset in, which I refuse to do, as this is clearly pointless, add this is a software not a hardware problem. I just wish they would acknowledge the problem and confirm it's being worked on, but instead they just remain silent! argh!!!

In the Netherlands there is a law which states that one can ask to have their money back when a product does not preform or function as to be expected from the price. You could try to get money back, but I guess that will be very hard to succeed in. I'll just wait for the system update. I hope that it will be available any time soon because this is urgent

Can only say that I'm facing this problem too and its Really getting on my nerves. The strange thing is that I juste the phone for one and a half month without any problem at all. But when I got home and plugged it in to the computer for the first time the problem started to show up after a week o so. I'll never gonna buy fony phones.

I am also experiencing the same problem, never expected from Sony. The only temporary solution I find is to do a 'Factory Reset'.

Please, all of you that have this problem, can you click on the button "me too" in the first post?.

Last time, Sony staff told me that this was only a few terminals and could not be treated as a general problem.
