Device memory full in xperia L

Hi.

I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..

I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173

Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...

Now I have some questions for Sony:

1. Do you recognize this problem?

2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?

3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?

Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31

We do have Spotify on our Xperia L but I don't think Spotify App is causing the problem.

- We have/had Spotify installed on 4-5 other Android devices without this problem.

- I know dozens of people using Spotify on Android devices without this problem.

- I verified that external SD card were used for downloaded Spotify files.

I can also confirm that although the Spotify app is stored in Device Memory, the files it downloads for "Available Offline" playlists are stored on the SD card.

I have the Skyscanner app, and just noticed that it was stored on Device Memory, but it allowed me to move it to Internal Storage, an option which is normally blanked off... What's that all about then?! Why can you move some apps, but not others? 😕

Skype also allows this. Moved Skype and Device Memory went from 111MB free to 143MB available... This phone is messed up!

MarcisB: I think you are not explaining this problem correctly. It looks like a system bug. And for someone blaiming spotify, I have the problem without having spotify or never used walkman. For me, the space disappear for just using the phone, and for me it has accelerated by using navionics marine and maybe "what's app" or Finland national broadcast company local streaming program called "yle areena"

SONY staff, you are answering other questions in the forum at the moment, at least Rickard and Alexander.. Why won't you bother answering something to this issue now...???

Hi, bought this phone just a month back here in India...and have started facing this memory space issue..dont know why this phone has internal storage and device storage seperate...whereas this is not seen on other similar andriod devices like Samsung of equivalent budgets...I moved few apps from device memory to internal storage but cant move all of them?? if this is the scene whats the use of the remaining internal storage which is almost 3 plus gb free? this proves that this device can take only 1-2gb apps not more?? very disappointed with this phone after switching over from blackberry..had gr8 expectation...any solutions pls help..

I am having similar problems.

I tried a full factory reset multiple times but the device memory just goes to zero within the day.

PC Companion says I have the latest firmware. After the full reset, I have about 1.3GB of device memory.

I install a flash card program. I answer a few questions on that program, and literally my memory goes down by 20MB per each question. Before I knew it, I was getting a message that said I had no internal memory left.
