Hi.
I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..
I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173
Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...
Now I have some questions for Sony:
1. Do you recognize this problem?
2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?
3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?
Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31
Five days after the reboot:
Sony should be embarrassed by this.
I want my money back. My mobile goes wrong and there is no solution.
Where are the Comunity Managers?
We really need an answer.
I guess we'll just have to make a lot of noice over this. Post the problem all over the place, make ourselves heard. Maybe Sony will not act anyway, but at least we'll make it hurt just a little.
I have exactly the same problem.
I factory resetted the whole device, rooted it and removed Walkman app and everything that was related to it. Then I installed Spotify and after just 10 hours it sucked around 200MB of storage. I deleted it for now and I;m soooooo frustrated, because I can't listen to my music because of Sony' lack of interest in their devices. Now I'm thinking about trading this phone in and getiing some other device ,because music is one ofmy primary activities with smartphones.
Do something with it Sony or you'll lose some customers for good.
I have the same problem on my sony xperia. Anyone know already how to fix it?
So... I called the store today to see how they're dealing with Sony. Sony had told them to send the phone to service (DUH, and fk) which they hadn't done yet. I told them I was promised and answer if it could be fixed, they didn't have one. So stores customer service told that someone from the service would call me, well they haven't. Maybe I just should go to the store again...
I'm starting to get really fed up on this sithé... Really. How can a corporation like Sony afford to have such a poor customer service? Won't buy anything with Sony label on it and will definetly suggest my friends to avoid this brand.
Yesterday, after a week, again without memory.
I finally decided to send the phone to the Official Service. I think it's the only chance I have. If Sony does not fix the problem, I'll send it again and again.
It's a shame, but I'll be at least 10 days without mobile. Movistar, my operator has lent me an old basic cell phone (calls and sms only). Embarrassing.
I will report what happens.
OK, after playing around with Link2SD I caused bootloop. I didn;t know what to do, so I repaired the phone by PC Companion and tried to root it, but without success. Nevermind, I'll just turn Walkman app off in settings. But asit was a fresh system just after repairing I decided to try using Spotify and Walkman again.
And so far, my used space displayed in settings is at solid 338MB. Doesn't matter how many times I open Walkman or Spotify, It stays the same. When I slide both Spotify and Settings app from the multitasking screen, which I think turns off the app, the Settings app shows that used memory is 444MB and then it drops to 338MB in a second.
So for me the problem may be solved (which would be GREAT), but I have to test it for some more time.
Warehouse manager of Gigantti-store (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elkj%C3%B8p) called me about my complains. They made consumer claim for me and tried to get my money back.
This is what they wrote in the complaint and how the "we don't care, we have your money. Loser."-Sony answered:
Huolto means service in finnish. The complaint text isn't completely correct, but I'll try to correct it before the store will send the phone to service.
The manager told me that it usually takes 4-5 times of service before manufacturer gives a new device. So it's approximately 3-5 months with this cycle. After I get new phone and repeat the problem I have legal claim to get back my money... This is completely fked up. Really.
Johan:
I don't have my phone to give you the detailed info. Just wondering why your employees service department can't get them from my phone to solve the problem...
Maybe you should contact the Europen central mobile service and tell them what they need to do. YOU can PM me if you need more info, and I will try to find the info for you. Don't you guys think it's a bit strange when consumer must be beta-tester, customer service employee and software specialist to get his expensive phone working. And don't say this isn't expensive, 300e is pretty hefty sum, even though some phones costs twice as much.
