Hi all,
I moved to NZ from the UK and my KD-55XE9005 came with me.
I'm on android 8 (6.5830)
My issue is streaming services are informing me Im not in the right country, these are NZ based applications such as Spark Sport, Lightbox TVNZ OnDemand etc.. (from the sony select menu)
Is this due to my TV having an EU build of firmware installed on it as my IP address is obviously local?
Can I change the region somehow or install a firmware for South Pacific Asia region TV's?
Netflix works, Amazon Prime Video works (VPN required for some stuff)
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

So the issue was in fact my google account still using the uk store rather than NZ.
Id created a new NZ profile and payment options but hadn't realised I needed to select that profile and actually remove the uk one to force all the devices to switch to the new country.
Thanks for everyones ideas and help.
It depends on the owner of the service the type of control that it implements. Most services use the IP control (that could be bypassed using a VPN) other the setting in the TV
You cannot install a different firmware and should check if you can set NZ as your regione even if your TV has an EU firmware
If you reset the tv, does it show NZ has the region or you have to set it as UK?
Maybe it could be enough to set the location without resetting but I do not think so
