Hello, I'd like to express my disappointment that Sony has abandoned its typical design (dedicated camera button + 3.5mm headphone jack + bezels) which made it stand out and now follows the trend of pointless changes by dropping the headphone jack in flagships or the camera button in mid-range devices - providing solutions that seek to solve problems which don't even exist! The 21:9 display seems logical idea for multitasking and I support it (although it would be nice to have various display ratio options). In my opinion forcing customers to choose either a dedicated camera button or a 3.5mm headphones jack in the latest smartphones line (Xperia 1, 10, 10 Plus) is the first step of Sony losing its identity and blindly imitating others. I believe there are lots of people, who like me hate notches/punch-holes, rounded display corners (which take away screen area) and bezelless designs (which make holding the phone difficult without covering the display with hands). I hope that other fans will also join and take the time to express their frustration with the latest changes and make Sony design teams listen. Otherwise we'll quietly vote with our wallets. I hope this helps Sony to revise its designs for future models. Thank you.

The headphone port is dead, long live the headphone port.
Frankly, a sign of the times, wireless/bluetooth is amazing, no need for the port any more.
And if you do need to wire up a set, there's a dongle for it.
In fact, plug in the right DAC/dongle, and you improve the sound coming from the phone.
The other stuff I can see your point, as it seems the more rounded/curved the screen edges, the more slippery the phones are, or it seems that way at least.
And punch hole/notch/tear drop cameras are an absolute disgrace.

Headphone jack compatible!
Stereo Headset STH32

The STH32 is a working accessory, as you can use the usbC - 3.5mm adaptor, that comes with the phone, for those and other earphones.

The headphone port is dead...And on Samsung's Note 10 it's gone also.
The camera button is still there!
fm radio...who listens to fm radio these days...you have dedicated radio apps, also Tunein, Spotify, etc.
If you have issues, with radio, either get a better network, that allows data coverage, or get a better contract/provider, who gives a decent amount of data for your money..
Urgh, if I have to hear just one more person say "no one needs a jack" I'm going to scream. Clearly these people never have to charge and listen at the same time. They clearly never have to get a long haul flight. They clearly never seem to understand that wireless headphones can still be used on phones with a jack. They clearly never mind about needing pointless added dongles and bits that need separately charging!
If the S10, a better phone in almost every conceivable way, can fit it all that better stuff in a smaller case and with a headphone jack... Then there really isn't any excuse.
Just because *you* don't need a jack and are fine with 2-4 hours listen time before you need to separately charge equipment, doesn't mean everyone else is.

Ok, point 1, Bluetooth headphones, And I can still charge if needed.
And yes, long flights, then I would use the WH-1000XM3 = 30hours listening time. And they came with the phone, couldn't ask for a better set, and they sound amazing.
And I can use them wired if I want, I have a very nice DAC dongle, which you really wouldn't know is there, if I did need to go wired, but anyhoo, the phone comes with one.
And like I say, 2-4 hours listening time....it's 30 hours on the 1000XM3's.
It's like Cassette Tape - CD/Mp3/Flac, etc, VHS to DVD, and DVD to Blu-ray, yes they were/are all good, but times progress.
If you are seriously into music, then I would guess no matter if you had a phone or not, a pocket HD file player, and a headphone amp would be a must, and a decent set of balanced cans.
40-50hours plus listening time and amazing sound quality.
The S10 better in every conceivable way topic though would be for another day!
The missing headphone jack was the last idiotic descision of Apple, that triggerd me to by a Sony Xperia XZ1 compact.
See my Video on that https://studio.youtube.com/video/7N3BQTSTB40/edit
Now the successor doesn not have it as well, saves me a lot of money
I had similar issues with the XZ2. First week was fine then an update made my Marley headphone seemingly crash the phone! Volume would go up and down apps come ramdomnly popping up. I tried factory resets, update searches until I tried buying sony headphones. Yep an update made my phone spaztic via non sony headphones. Disgusting ploy.
And then the sony dongle broke. So I had to high and low for a quality dongle. Nearly a yr later the USB C port itself no longer accepted any dongle. The slightest bump and the dongle falls out making the phone useless as I use it mostly as a walkman. Didn't sony invent them? I also enjoy watching youtube, etc and not annoying others around me by using headphones.
The other thing I found super annoying about sony phones, I've owned many, is alarms. Why do I need to turn the phone on and off near every night just so my alarms work? is this not the simplest of operations for a phone to perform?
Anyway threw the phone hard at floor last twice night. Heaps broke it.
Will buy a Samsung simply for the SEPERATE headphone port.
I have a Sony Bravia, soundbar, alarm clock, PS4 PRO. I am a loyal customer for many yrs.
Agreed! Definitely bring back the headphone jack and true dual front facing stereo speakers. But also try to keep the forehead and chin bezels small if possible. And also reintegrate the fingerprint scanner with the power button. It's just way more convenient that way.
1. Bring back Jack
2. Bring back FM Radio
3. Bring back Clear bass, Clear Audio+
4. Bring back Walkman application with SensMe
5. Add S-Master HX
