Z5 Premium no longer showing status of download

Recently my phone has stopped showing the status of any files i download.  I save the file and just get a completion notice but no status. Before this i had an icon come up saying the file was downloading and what percentage was done.  Anybody else had this ?

I believe it's since the last update sony sent out a couple of weeks ago.

Strange, can you try settings - apps, tap on 3 dots and show system. Look for download manager, force stop and clear data. Restart.

Thanks for the information, unfortunately i've just tried that and it still the same..very strange.

@forefather1977 I've just updated some apps on google play, the percentage bar was there. Is this happening in a specific browser? Or google play too?

I've noticed now that it's only with Opera ! chrome shows the download status, it's clearly an Opera issue rather than a problem with my phone.  It actually does show the status through google play apps aswell which i thought it didn't
