Z5 compact camera and video not working at all

Hi,

I just bought a brand new z5 compact. However the camera does not work at all. When the phone switches on the video and camera app both crash with 'x has unfortunately stopped working'. Any time I try and open the camera it just crashes.

I was going to take it back and get it replaced, but just thought I would ask if there is anything I can do to get it to work,

Does it work on >>> safe mode

also, settings > apps > all > camera > clear data > restart the phone

Crashes in safe mode. Clearing the cache has no affect.

I have already tried that before posting (I'm such a forum newbie - I should have said that in the original post.)

In that case you will have to return them to the store/contact your Local support

Sorry to hear this.

As Uliwooly said you can try contacting your retailer directly in this case, or you should get in touch with your Local support team for information on how to proceed with a repair.

I suggest u to try another Repair FW with PCC, then turn on your phone, and try ! If it doesn't work, it's defected and u should exchange it with a new one at your local store where u bought it

But in every case, I'm suggestin u to try, because in meantime, u can't do nothing different, so give a last try, so u are sure that's defected

Thanks everyone for the advice. I took it to the store and they replaced it with another handset. 

A little disapointed that the phone had a defect out the box, but this stuff happens I guess. :S
