z3 indicating a text message, even tho there isn't any new

I have an issue that my default (standard) text message application shows it's 1 unread text message, but there isnt. This happened after i had a failure to download a MMS message. I have deleted the threads that beholds the mms's, but that didn't help much

I have done soft reset too, no help. Even tried to download other sms app, and sat that to default no luck there either.

But i found something on Samsung support about badge provider, but i cant find that settings in my settings - application - all list.

any other had issues like this, or even better know how i can remove the 1 overlay on the default app, so i dont get any more annoyed

Thanks to Decco for solving this. I happens to me from time to time as well - and again today. The easiest solution for me is to Search for 450 in the Message App. This search turns up some "phantom" messages that look like this: "4504:Message not found". When I delete these messages, the unread messages notifiaction disappears.

This worked for me thank you Decco once I downloaded the sis app it highlighted one of my messages with red triangle I then deleted app and then deleted whole conversation that was showing the red triangle phantom message has gone. 🙂

I used the Reset Unread Sms app:

It was the only thing that solved the problem on my phone. I had tried the solutions presented in this thread, but they did not work for me. 

I have a Xperia Z1, and the two unread messages that I couldn't get rid of was MMS error messages that did not appear in my inbox.
