Xperia Z5c crack due to overheating.

I was charging my Z5c the other day and I heard a little pop sound. The back glass cracked, pretty much right down the middle. It's been overheating recently since the last update and I've noticed the vibration/haptic feedback keeps stopping. The only way to get it back is to tap the phone. Also, when recording sound, the sound level is very low.

Will Sony accept responsibility for the crack, and the other repairs, or will they claim it's down to me?

I'm sorry to hear about your issue but the phone can't overheat, it will shutdown before it gets too hot, unless you root the phone and overclock it, then it could overheat, or with a custom ROM, both will void the warranty; with that said, your description seems to be a hardware issue, contact your Local support and get it inspected, if you haven't already.

I'm not sure how hot it's meant to get so I may mean a different thing by overheating...Basically, too hot to hold. The temperature reads 65 degrees. It's not rooted or anything.

The screen won't crack because of that, could you post pictures of the cracked screen, perhaps someone can find the point of impact

It's not the screen, it's the back glass. There was no impact, nobody was near it. I heard the pop and saw the crack on the back.

@Rosscore

you can post pictures of the back panel, housing, top side bottom.

What did your Local support said about the cracked back?

My daughter's Z5 Premium screen has cracked and shattered today at the base where the charging port is. It was on charge for 1 hour unattended in her room. The charger plug was red hot. This is the third Z5 phone she has had since June, all with varying faults. Not happy and have reported this new issue to EE. Waiting for a resolution as I no longer want this phone in my house as it is clearly overheating.

The phone can't overheat, if the phone was dropped while charging it could damage the port and/or housing and/or any of the panels
