Hello,
Following is the sequence of incidents that resulted to the issue.
1. I activated battery stamina mode when phone was 100 percent charged. I also enabled low battery mode to start when battery goes down to 8 percent.
2. When battery went to 12 percent, I activated Ultra stamina mode. Pls note that when I activiated USM, the SM was already active.
3. USM got activiated without any issue.
4. Once I reached home, I connected charger and tried to disabled USM from notification tray option, which didn't do anything at all. Then I removed the charging cable and disabled the USM from Power management settings. Finally the phone rebooted.
5. When the phone powered up, it didn't restore anything from normal mode or SM mode (I mean the home screen layout, apps, etc), everything was just the way it was when USM was active.
6. Most of the apps where not visible in app drawer but were visible in settings->Apps
Finally I restored/resetted the phone, lost all apps and data from internal storage and phone started working normal again.
Pls fix this.
The only solution is, do a PC C repair... Happened to me tho
What do you mean PC C repair?
I also have the issue. This is the first time I activate this and now I have no access to anything. Can someone please reply and offer a solution that doesn't involve resetting the phone and losing everything? I can't even back up my stuff properly if I can't access the relevant apps.
Hello Guys,
this is a stupid plae to discuss the issue !! .. i dont think sony pply care anout his customers satisfactions..
thats why the Mobile market of sony is going down.. and after Xperia z5 .. they going to loose lot of customer..
Sony.. Need to learn from Samsung..
It feels bad to admit but it's true.
This is a user fourm but I've also registered this issue and a few other with official sony support site and they write back saying they'll call to discuss but nothing happens, after one point they stop responding to emails as well.
What Sony Ericsson once was with their amazing phones and customer support is no more in Sony.
You're right guys, and that's why the Z5 was my first Sony phone... and will be my last Sony phone. Same problem happened to me back in January and forced me to do a complete restore, among many other issues (not fixed since November when I got that phone!). Bluetooth issues, very poor battery life + drain, very glitchy firmware with slowdowns and UI lag, etc. I've used CyanogenMod nightlies that had less problems and broken stuff than the Z5 firmware.
I expected so much more from Sony, but in the end the Z5 is probably the most disappointing Android phone I've ever purchased (Galaxy S3 - Nexus 5 - Galaxy Note 3 - OnePlus One). I wish I would have got a Nexus 6P or a Galaxy 6 Edge instead back in November 😕
That Z5 is a great device (hardware wise) that is terribly underserved by a terrible and outdated firmware, a laughable and limited camera app (drop the AR joke and give us true manual controls instead!), DRMs and very bad after-purchase service.
I knew Sony Mobile was struggling, and I understand why now. Sadly I had to spend CAD800$ to see it by myself.
The final nail in the coffin for me: Not only Sony is the latest major manufacturer to update its current flagship phone (Marshmallow), we're not even getting 6.0.1... we'll get an already outdated 6.0 firmware without Stamina Mode, after all these months! It got to be a joke..
The S7 Edge will be my next phone. It has and does everything the Z5 has and does, but better. I won't even comment on the Xperia X Performance. I'm not in mid-range phones.
With Ultra Stamine Mode there's a problem with deactivated apps that I think should be addressed with 6.0 ;
However, because of this, a lot of users, also a friend of mine, sold this phone for this bug in particular
People can't reset the phone for a bug like this, for activating something that should address other problems such as low battery.
This is a user based forum, if you want to contact Sony, this is how >>> Local support
