Xperia Z5 compact now a brick after google password reset

Updated my Z5 compact yesterday morning - in the evening I was checking my contact list I noticed I have over 30 Xperia Care contact numbers listed - unable to delete. Sony advice was to back up phone and repair software. Phone backed up and started the repair. Today I am unable to use phone. 14.20 today I did another software repair still the same. I can only go as far as "Verifying your account" I enter my email address and password and then it asks for it again and again and again. I cannot go any further. I have checked my Google account details and they are connect and working. What do I do now?

@bobsmith Have you changed the password yesterday or today? If yes, you need to wait 72 hours before you can get the new password:

Changed my password on the 17th at 23.20.
