This is a follow-up to my post a couple of years or so back on the Xperia Z1 Compact:
As before, I bought the Xperia Z5 Compact because it was the only high-spec smaller phone on the market and it's been great. It improves on the Z1 Compact by being the same size (and not any bigger, it could still be a bit smaller but the size is OK), maintaining the easily accessible memory card slot, reducing the bezel/border space to allow for a larger screen, removing the flap for the charger/USB port, adding a fingerprint sensor and of course upgrading the CPU/memory.
So this post is mostly just to say thank you for continuing to make high-spec smaller Android phones, as no one else is currently doing this. It's also to say please keep making compact versions of the flagship models while maintaining the processing power. For some reason I could only find the X Compact on sale in the UK, which appears not to be an upgrade and in some ways even is worse than the Z5 Compact. As such I had to buy my Z5 Compact second-hand - I would have happily paid for a new one but it was not available anywhere in the UK SIM free...
Thanks for reading.
Hi Alex, I agree with you 100%, keep making it even better, sony
Unfortunately the z series is discontinued. however Sony is still comitted to the compact series by releasing an X series Compact,. though this is not as good as the previous compact where they are the smaller versions of the flaghip devices. let us hope that sony will release more compacts that will live up to the previous generations of the series
Which ever manufacturer releases a bare Android with an optional download for proprietary apps that's shock and water resistant is what I'll be getting next... Or the Caterpillar S60 so I can make an app that lets me pretend I'm a Predator from the Aliens vs Predator franchise.
So at current standards today... Next year.... Next millenium, it looks like I'll need to start practicing hunting down conmandos covered in mud.
