Since the last update (17.1.1.A.0.402) headphones are not detectend when connected to the phone.
It applies to the noise cancelling and standard headphones.
Headphones work just fine (tested on a different audio player).
I need a solution ASAP since this is one of the main reasons why I got his phone.

I also have the same problem weeks ago. Rotating the headphones jack around disconnects and connects the headset at random, I don't know why.
Now, everything is not working. Simple insertion of jack to the audio port does not connect. Rotating the jack does not connect. No Smart connect notification tells that it was connected. Music plays on the phone's speaker. Following the provided soln of this thread did not solve the problem.
Why are they not addressing this issue?
I'm experiencing th same issue. Had two different in ear phones that are android compatible and now just have randomly stopped working! Cant listen to anythin or make calls
Hi Vhen,
Did you ever resolve this issue?
I have the exact same symptoms - nothing is even detected when an aux cable/headphones are entered into my headphone port and noise only comes out of my phone speakers.
Any guidance would be much appreciated. Cheers!
Hi,
I solved that issue. I had exactly the same sympthomes today, ear/headphones didn't work after plugin into minijack.
My sollution:
Go to settings -> Applications -> Smart Connect -> Clear data
Next:
Go to main menu -> chose "Smart Connect" application and try again to setup headphones/earphones. -> chose and switch on your event (in my case program for earphones in Smart Connect was disabled previously)
Subseqently try to plugin your headphones and play music by suitable application. At first attempt it shouldn't work but when you plugout your device your smartphone should vibrate and display on your screen sth like "event ended". That means your minijack is working. Try to plugin again and check if it working correctly.
Let me know if it was helpful for your case.
Regards!
You can try to install an app called SoundAbout and play with its settings, on media audio settings set wired headphones, after a while it worked for me.
