Vertical stripe of dead zone in the centre of my screen.

Ok basically phone has worked well almost 18 months, then woke up two days ago to find it's an effort to type, having to flip the phone, left, right, upside down etc.

I used service mode to scan the screen, I did 3 to verify results, but I'm now wondering whether it would be possible to open the phone up to resecure the video in cable.?

Or whether to give up, and get a Samsung!3

I have the same problem, just the dead area is horizontal about 2/3 down. Looking for a solution as well.
