Simple question really:
Can my back up from one Z5 compact be used one another brand new Z5 compact? (to add all the backed up information to a new phone)

Hi @KevinBaykr,
Do you happen to already have a backup made in Xperia Companion? If you do, use the Xperia Transfer feature inside of the software to transfer the backup to your new Z5 Compact.
If you don't have a backup already made, use an OTG adapter to connect a wired USB mouse to navigate with on your broken display. Go to Settings > About phone > Press 7 times on the Build number at the bottom, once it says that you're a developer go to Settings > Developer options > Activate USB debugging, then choose USB configuration and make sure it's on MTP.
When you now connect your device to your computer it should be recognized so that you can create a backup within Xperia Companion and use Xperia transfer afterwards.
I think it is unlikely
why not use the Xperia Transfer instead?

Because my screen broke (again) and I can't find a replacement this time.
