You might want to take it back to Tmobile
Hi,
I have a problem. I have a very annoying background noise whenever I use the earphone (top speaker). The Noise is not related to the level, the cell signal. Changing the settings für noise cancelling doesnt change anythin as this only affects what other people hear. I have checked the z3 of a Friend and some in shops and all of them have the problem.
If you check the earphone with the service tool, you hear the noise as soon as the earphone ist targeted. When you abort the earphone test you still hear the noise for about 2 seconds and then you almost hear a click and the noise stops, so it is a baseline noise of the earphone comparable to a amp or tv that is tuned up too loud. As I said, it doesnt matter if you habe good signal or the volume of the call, as it already happens when just playing a sound.
I habe also checked the sound of the z3 compact my girlfriend has. It sounds flawless. This is really really a problem and I need sony to respond to this. I wont stop calling the support until someone says something. It is something you cannot deny, but many people dont realize it because they talk only a little on the phone and because they take such things as given.
Please sony, include it into the next update. It is like the pink spot problem and I am sure this is a software / gain/ loudness problem that should be fixed easily by kernel modification.
It is such a nice and beatiful phone that makes me want to throw it against a wall as soon as i need to talk through it.
Hello,
I want to say that i experience the very same problem on my new Z3 compact. Few days ago I took it to the repair service and they concluded it is a normal thing. I was like - **bleep** !? Top model priced at 500 EUR to have background sound noise. Even my 8 years old Nokia sounds much better then Z3. I still didn't pick up the phone from repair service. I wrote email to the local Sony support (Croatia) and i wait for reply. Did you guys solve something? I would also like to know - are there phones free of this issue or Sony really messed up things with this? Thx.
Regards.
Nino
Hi,
I also have the same problem with my new Xperia 3. I bought the phone last Monday from Bulgarian operator Telenor. Every time when I make a call, I hear a annoying static noise. The noise is not loud but it is permanent and it sounds parallelly with voice of other person. The noise presents only during a call, not when I listen to music or other voice application. I called to Sony Customer centre for advice. They advised me to reset phone and after that to reinstall the software with Sony Companion by PC. I made it but there is no result... On the Sony official site there is an official update which can adjust this issue probably, but unfortunately I cannot install it. My phone display "Your phone is up to day...". From Sony Customer centre said that the reason was in my location (Bulgaria). Because it took time to overspread the update over the world. After that they advised me to visit repair centre in Sofia.
I am really dissappointed about this issue. When I bought my Xperia I also bought Nokia Lumia 530 Dual Sim. The Z3 is worth 500 euro but its sound is worse than Lumia 530 which worth is 60 euro only...
Veselin.
Hi. I just got another phone but same issue is present 😞 I don't know what to do anymore. Veselin did you solve anything? Can you please post a link to that patch?
Regards.
I think that too. What botheres me most is that here in Croatia repair service staff ignored problem - they tried to convince me all is fine like i'm crazy. Only after insisting on phone replacement by writting mails to Sony support i managed to get a new phone. Unfortunatelly that one has the same issue. Btw. i was googling much on this and i saw Sony had earspeaker problems with previous Z models too. I hope people will complain, although there is not much info about it on the Internet.
