Sony MDR-NC31EM No longer working as headphones, just mic

Tried with support but they couldn't replicate the issue, whenever I plug my MDR-NC31EM headphones in my phone it thinks it's a mic so no sound is played through them, at first I thought it was just the headphones themselves so I ordered a new pair but the new ones act just the same way, I don't believe it's a hardware problem since all other headphones I've tried work like they should, the problem also did occur at the same time as I updated to 4.4.4 so I'm wondering if it's a bug or something, does anybody else have the same issue?

I did a software repair as adviced by the support at Sony but that didn't work, I don't know what to do, now I'm here with 100 bucks worth of headphones I can't use!

But how do I fix it when the fixes suggested don't work. Music is the main thing I use my phone for, and if I can't use it then it isn't much use to me half the time.

I have been waiting for replies from the mods or any Sony staff here with regards to this issue and still not a word that they have tested and acknowledged the issue despite a lot of people are experiencing this issue.

Anyone did a factory reset and solve the issue?

As i wrote earlier in this thread we have been unable to find any issue with the latest software and our noise cancelling headset. To investigate it further we need the information i asked for earlier in this thread. I'm afraid no one has sent me any PM yet with the information we need.

I have also been having the same problem my MDR nc31 earphones work perfectly fine with any other device however when I use them with my own Xperia z2 which I originally got the earphones with they do not work they show up as a mic only!! This is really annoying and has been happening since a few days after I updated my phone to 4.4.4 how do I fix this can someone please tell me???

My headphones stopped working on my Phone but TThey in my pc and another Phone. I am so upset right now, I really wish you sony fix this fast
