Unfortunately, none of our phones are shockproof. Even if it is dropped from a lower height, the misfortune can be that it breaks. Since repair process and prices may differ from market to market, you would do best by raising this question with your local support team:

Absolute joke. Same thing happened to my brother for a 30cm fall.
It is pathetic to say that accidents happen, look after your phone. It is a phone, you take it with you everywhere and chances are it is going to fall at some point. I have dropped samsungs and iphones before and they have never cracked this easily. Sony makes a flimsy screen then charges a fortune to repair it.
The problem is the "misfortune" seems to be happening to everyone who drops this particular phone, and even to people who don't drop their phone at all (I've heard the phone cracks even when sitting on a table with no one touching it).
Sony needs to acknowledge this. I will not be buying another phone from you again.
