My Xperia Z3 Compact reset itself to factory default in my pocket ...

The screen was locked and the option tape" twice on screen to wake-up" disactivate.

There is a combo of button to reset the phone ?

@aier that's a good idea, BUT do it like this, repair your phone with PC Companion , add your wifi or another wifi, create a gmail account directly on the phone, and check again, do NOT add that other gmail account or anything related to it.

Also consider that Malware designed for Android devices can be found on Pc's but won't be detected as the string(Coding) is not designed for Windows systems, Then when you connect your phone to a Pc it will then transfer to your phone

Hi. I've got a Sony xperia P mobile phone. I very rarely carry it around i my pocket, almost never. Last summer i experienced factory reset while carrying the phone in my pocket. Very annoying, but i got over it. Today i also had the phone in my pocket and the same happend! It is impossible that the reason for this is unrelated to being carried in my pocket, since it was two out of two over a year! I have a four digit code to unlock the phone. Probably means the phone is being replaced, and not with another Sony. Thank god for google picture and contact storage!

Same just happened to me. It is very unlikely that my phone or password is compromised. I do have an exchange account set up, but it is very unlikely this is the cause. Very disappointing introduction to Sony phones as it's just 2 weeks old. Lost lots of photos as was on holidays and roaming.

I am also frustrated with my Xperia Z3 compact, yesterday during garden working it made a total factory reset - also for the 3 rd time with me!!!! :-(, just came home from family holiday and all pictures a gone. Small & short but important business agreements are lost :-(!!! Have anyone a tip how to restore it I would be extremely thankfull!!!! - SONY you have a propblem here !!!! I have a rubber protection so nu buttons can be pushed in the pocket accidently, every time it has been during some physical work - with a bit of swetting and maybe humidyti in the pocket.....

You people who all are complaining about data wipe or unconditional format should be blamed yourselves.

You google account must have been compromised by logging into some cafe pc or on your friends laptop etc. where your password got stored and somebody took undue advantage or did it for mischief.

And these guy can easily shoot a remote lock or complete phone format.

Thats usually how it goes.

So next time either disable all this on your phone or login only from your own devices.

I've got a Xperia Z3+ and it's just done the same. In pocket while on holiday. Phone felt hot in pocket so I got the phone out to have a look and it was in the final stages of factory reset. Lost everything. All holiday pictures and videos. Too many people on here reporting same problem for it not to be a Sony problem. Not only this forum it's been reported on also
