Tap registered as swipe.

Interestingly, I have the exact opposite problem on my Z3. Swipes are often registered as taps. This will often happen consistently for between 10-60 seconds, leaving me unable to unlock my phone, and then suddenly be fine. A few days later, same thing again. The screen is clean. Diagnostic app is useless. Been happening for over a month and would like some help before I factory reset it and see if that helps.

I'm sorry to hear that, this sounds terribly annoying.

For how long have you been experiencing this behaviour with your phone? Does it happen every day and if so is there anything specific that triggers it? Have you noticed any pattern as to when this occurs?

First of all, make sure you have disabled the glove mode under Settings > Display. I would also recommend that you try rebooting your phone to safe mode to make sure that there isn't any third party applications being behind this.

Thanks for replying. It's been happening ever since I bought it 2nd hand from eBay. Non-trade seller, not enough of a major issue to warrant a refund/replacement.

Yep, glove mode is off. I haven't noticed any pattern when it happens, but I'll look out for one.

As it happens seemingly at random every few days, it's very hard to test solutions haha! I'd rather not spend several days stuck in safe mode just to test a theory.

I'll try a few solutions (e.g. software repair via Xperia Companion) and get back to you with results.

If this only occurs ever so often I can understand that testing safe mode is a long shot, especially if it only happens once every few days. If it was caused by an app it feels like this should happen more often.

Just wanted to check in on if there's been any change to the situation. If not, let me know.
