problem z3 compact camera underwater

I was trying my new z3 compact underwater and each time I put it underwater the camera stopped and it defaulted back to the homescreen. Why would the camera stop?

You will have to begin recording, activate touch block and dive right in!

Probably because the buttons are being pressed. You must lock the screen so that water does not touch the screen. You can use the shutter button to take pictures. In order to lock the screen, open the camera app, press the options button, select the 3rd option (the one with the tools picture on it) scroll down and activate touch block.

Good luck and make sure all your flaps are closed:)

are you using the physical camera key?

I was using the screen button. When I use the physical camera button it takes a picture when I want to record a video. I started filming out of the water but when I started to put it underwater the video stopped

I just realised that the video works better when using the 4k app in the photo settings icon as well as using the touch block. Thanks for the help

Anytime, just make sure to always check if the flaps are firmly closed

Just curious:  Have you recorded long 4k videos underwater?  I've read that after about 4.5 minutes of recording 4k video (not underwater) that the camera shuts down due to overheating.  I'm wondering if being in a liquid would enhance cooling enough to allow a longer video recording time.
