Physicall volume buttons

The physicall volume buttons on My Z5 arent responding anymore. Also you dont feel The "click" when pressing vol-up or down.

If i press press The buttons with a enourmous force, you Will feel a small click and The device registers The vol-up or down.

I still have warranty until 04/2018 but im not sure If this is a warranty coverage case.

Is there someone with The same problem?

Cheers

Hi @Artemis024, welcome to our community!

I'm so sorry to hear about your phone. Slightly_frowning_Face

I'm afraid this sounds like it's related to hardware rather than software.

I would recommend that you test the volume up and volume down buttons in the Diagnostics test in the phone, press them gently like you have done previously and see if the test registers that you have pressed them.

Go to Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Volume up button and Volume down button.

The phone will vibrate when you press either of the buttons, if it doesn't register in the test when you press them I'd recommend getting in touch with your Local support team and they will assist you with having the phone sent in to an authorized service centre so it can be examined by a trained technician.

If you have any questions regarding service routines, warranty and so forth your local support team are experts on your market and will assist you these questions!

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for your reply!

I contacted Sony Support and i can send the phone in to their Service Center. However, im not sure if its a warranty case? From the outside there no visible damage that could lead to this issue. Only a small ugly spot on 2 of the phone's corners. Besides that, the phone itself is 100% scratch or damage free.

Does this usually gets covered?

Hello again!

I'm afraid I won't be able to answer if it will be covered by warranty or not, since the phone has to be examined at the service centre and the decision will be made there.

I'm sorry I can't give you a more precise answer than the above.

Let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with!
