Photos that are clearly visible on my phone are not transferring to my Macbook. When I connect and activate Transfer Photos, the photos in question do not appear on the photos to be transferred. I took some images the next day of the same subject, they appear and have transferred but others have not, any clues please? Peter

That's odd, I wasn't able to open the pictures but I am able to transfer the files, which folder do you have the pictures ?
If you took the pictures with the regular camera they will be under
Internal storage > DCIM > 100Andro
You can also use Android File Transfer
I use the camera in the phone so the photos should be located in the default location which I assume is as you've described above. I note under DCIM folder is a sub folder called thumbnails as well as a sub folder called XPERIA.
If you use different cameras such as Time Lapse, Timeshift burst, etc, the pictures will be stored under XPERIA
Could you tell what the Android File transfer ap is called please? I can't find it in Google Play under that title.
In the phones album app, could you locate a picture that doesn't transfer, open it, tap [menu] (3 dots) -> Details and check what it says under "File path"?
The file path of an image that has not transferred is: /storage/54E1-7126/DCIM/100ANDRO/DSC_0148
Now the odd thing is I have another image that has transferred with the same file name (DSC_0148) but with a different address:
/storage/emulated/0/DCIM/100ANDRO/DSC_0148
Does that help?
Peter
It seems it might be pictures that are stored on your SD card that's not being transferred in that case though you might need to check a few more to be sure of this. The first path is your SD card and the 2:nd is the internal storage of the phone.
If you browse the phone from Xperia Companion or Android File Transfer and select the SD card instead of the internal storage, can you see that picture under DCIM\100ANDRO?
Thank you Rickard and uliwooly for your help in getting this matter resolved.
