Phone keeps beeping every hour or so

I don't know why, and it's driving me crazy!
Just after the upgrade to lollipop it started to play a two beeps sound every hour or less, even at night with all sounds turned off. What should I try?

Hi Peter,

thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately this didn't help either.

After I had uninstalled virtually any third-party app to no avail, I have finally factory-reset the phone.

All apps have been reinstalled and the beeping is gone...

Sad, that I had to take such drastic measures to get it working again. Nonetheless at least it works now.

I'm having the same problem.  The tone isn't a beep, it's a bell sound, and it rings every hour, on the hour.  It's obviously an hourly chime, but I can't find the setting in any of the apps that would cause it.  The bell sound isn't set as any of the sounds for notifications, etc.  I've read that it's in the Android system and that you can turn it off in profile settings, but the Xperia doesn't seem to have profile settings.  Any idea what the equivalent would be?

Hi, I had the same problem and was looking on here trying to find a solution with no luck. However, I have since realised that one of my email accounts I had set up had forgotten my login details - possibly because I was trying to clear some space on the sd card and did some cache clears etc. Since reconnecting to that account the beeping has stopped. I think there were connection error messages but for some reason they only flashed up in the notifications and didn't stick around so a lot of the time I just heard the beep but didn't see the message! Worth checking any and all accounts that send you notifications are properly connected. Hope this helps!
