Do you by chance have NFC turned on and if so if you turn it off does the beeping stop?
I am sorry to hear that, I am glad however that you managed to resolve this issue.
Hi Jake,
I have to follow up on this issue (as I don't want to format my SD...)
My Z2 upgraded to Lollipop perfectly and works fine, but I have the same annyoing beeps as described before:
* I never heard the sound before, if's a kind of soft beep-beep at low volume.
* LED is not lighting up
* there's no notification added
* I didn't install any new apps after upgrading to lollipop
* the sound is played even if I set my phone to silent/no vibration
* the sound is played over the BT-Headset when I'm talking while it happens
* there are variable delays between sounds. I'd say from 30 to 60 minutes.
I checked all apps that could issue sounds in that manner, but to no avail.
Have you any ideas, what I could check?
Hi MarcWinter,
As stated above, do you have NFC turned on?
Menu > Settings > More > NFC
Hi Jake,
sorry - forgot to mention that:
Yes. But this happens when there is no Tag around whatsoever: for example when the phone is in the dock during the night oder while having it laying on the table.
Marc
EDIT: Tried it today with NFC off. Same thing. This time, while listening to an audiobook in my car via BT.
That is quite odd, there are no other functions I can think of, you could try removing any third party apps and see if the issue continues.
Hi Marc,
My Xpreia Z3 compact also beeped after updating it to Android Lollipop and I found out that it was the Voice Control extension for Smartband Talk that caused it. It was periodically complaining that it couldn't find a supported text-to-speech engine. After uninstalling it, the beeping stopped. Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Peter
