hi guys, i bought xperia z5 dual. the phone looks great and features are awesome on paper. but i spend half a lakh only to buy a showpiece.
the phone heats up like crazy. z5 has 3gb ram which is usefull only for call recieving and sending some text msges. i cant even start a basic game, it heats up like crazy. it has amazing camera features, again can click 1 or 2 pics. the phone just heats up.
i mean its redicilous that a phone heats up so much tat u cant even touch it.
i have been using sony phones for past 10yrs... and its really disappointing to have heating machine for 50k.
i would request the concern authorities to look into it and find the solution if not i will escalate this issue to another level.
ITS REALLY DIASPPOINTING
Well I've a Z5 Compact and I don't have heating issues at all. The CPU hardly pass the 50C-55C. (I used to pass easily 60C in the Nexus 5).
And now with the latest firmware (released yesterday) the performance is much better.
However, you can feel more heat using this kind of phones because the back is made of glass. (Which is better for heat disipation).
I was using z1compact and z2... it didn have dis heating issues as much as z5 dual has... try it out buddy.... i am sony fan... this is more out of frustration.... check it personally
Did you try the phone with the latest firmware? Could you post your firmware version (it should start with a 32*)?
Thanks!
The phone won't overheat if it gets too hot it will shutdown, if you are using the camera or recording at 4K it will heat up faster, that's normal, if you are watching a lot of videos it will get hot as it has a 4K display, at the end of the day, its up to you to buy it or not. A lot of users used to say the same about the Z then Z1 then Z2 then Z3 then Z3+/Z4 and now Z5
It does get hotter, and quicker than my Z3, and Z1, but then the processor is so much more powerful.
From what I've learned, Sony is using V2.1 of the software that runs the SD810, plus there are pipes inside the phone to help with heat dissipation. It might heat up fast, but it does cool down faster too, I think.
I moved from Z3C to Z5C a week ago. I noticed is the Z5C starts getting hot immediatly after being submerged in water and battery consumption becomes high !!
Is is trying to dry itself up faster?
I also can not receive or make calls for an hour or until it dries up!!
Thinking to switch back to the Z3C.
