Hello, I received the Z5 Compact a few days ago (used) as a gift, while the phone operates smoothly, I encountered one issue: I like to quickly record music now and then and I noticed that this phone tries to cancel out the instruments, guitar in this case, while trying to keep the voice. Needless to say that this makes the recording not only terrible sounding but actually worthless. Is there any way I can turn off noise cancellation completely (system-wide)?
My old phone (S4 mini), may it rest in peace, had this pre-installed recording app and in this app you could turn off noise cancellation, this option somehow affected everything system-wide, and it was perfect.
Hello uliwooly, I use various apps. I don't know if it's related to the apps because when I was using my S4 there was no attempt to execute noise cancelling when I was recording something, no matter which app I was using. On my old phone (S4) I had turned noise cancelling off in the pre-installed recording app (the same app that allows you to set the sensitivity of the mic) and the mic worked everywhere perfectly (no horrible noise cancelling), for the intended purposes. I looked for a similar app for my SONY but there was nothing pre-installed, unless I am mistaken. I donwloaded the so-called Audio Recorder from the Play Store, made by SONY, hoping that it would have a similar effect as the Samsung equivalent, but no luck so far (there is no option in the app to turn off noise cancelling either). Why does SONY love noise cancelling so, so much..
Do you know if I can force the SONY to record from an external mic, and bypass the noise cancelling in the process? I have a ZOOM H-1 that I can connect via 3.5mm jack, but it somehow still records from the built-in mic. Thank you for any ideas or suggestions. I also ordered a new headset that comes with a mic, maybe that can make a difference.
