No notification sound on Z5 when screen is locked after Marshmallow update

Hello all! I have a very annoying problem. Ever since I have updated my Z5 to Marshmallow, I don't get any notification sounds (other than text messages and calls) if my screen is off. The moment it's on, all the sounds are working again. I have already factory resetted it, because I was one of the lucky persons who had the 'Can't Access Google Store' issue right after updating. I have also already tried booting in Safe Mode and I have the same issue, so I know that it's not a third-party App that's causing it.

Any help is welcome! Grinning_Face

Cheers,

A.

I misread, when you said this:

I thought you were referring to a third party app, what you could do is repair the phone with XC and report back.

@ProfessorSycamore

Have you enabled Doze? or installed any battery app?

I had no clue what Doze was, and after googling it I'm currently going through the Apps to disable this. If it fixes the issue I'll let you know! Thank you so much for replying so quickly. Oh, and no I haven't installed any battery app.

I went to Doze, disabled it, and still no sound 😞  aww I had really hoped this was the issue!

@ProfessorSycamore

Could you tell us which apps have no notification sound?

Certainly. FB Messenger, Hangouts and my emails are making no sounds when the screen is off.

@ProfessorSycamore

Could you check the notification settings on such apps?

Sure thing:

FB Messenger : Vibrate, Light and Sound are set to ON. Notification Sound is Messenger (default).

Hangouts : Hangouts Messsages & Invites is set to Vibrate and play sound (if I click on this, it brings me to another window where Notifications is set to ON, I see the chosen sound and Vibrate is set to ON)

Gmail : Notifications is checked, Inbox sound & Vibrate is set to  : Sound on, vibrate. If I click on this, I see the sound i chose, that Vibrate is checked and that Notify for every message is also checked.

I should point out also that i haven't modified anything since upgrading from Lollipop and that all the sounds worked fine.

Thank you so much for helping!

What I would do is

settings > apps > select the app > memory > clear data > repeat > restart the phone > log in on those apps > check again.
