No blacklist?

Where is the blacklist for calls or texts on the Z5?

Call blocking on calls is available JUST AND ONLY if a number or contact is on my contactlist, but not available for a number calls me sometimes that's not in my contactlist ! I think is more important call blocking availabilty no-depending by contactlist !

I'm hoping u could address these two steps internally !

I will forward your feedback.

What i do is that i have a contact that works as a blacklist. I have a contact called "Blocked" which i have blocked and then i just add numbers i want to block to that contact. So if a new number calls that i want to block i can quickly block it if i tap and hold it in the call log and then select "Add to contacts" and then "Blocked".

But it is also possible to download a standalone call blocker app from Google Play to keep the list of blocked numbers separate from the contacts list. Personally i prefer using our contacts app though as the "Blocked" contact is synchronized across my devices.

It's an acceptable workaround.
It still lacks the possibility for trigger words though.

That's just a workaround, available on stock android, and not introduced by Sony Winking_Face

However, contact "Blocked" is a very good idea Slightly_smiling_Face

Glad to hear that we could find a solution that works for you and hopefully more options will be available in the future Slightly_smiling_Face

But i do suspect you are comparing to a phone that's not running stock Android. This is how you block numbers also on Google Nexus 6 i believe.

I hope more options will be into your SW and not a stock one !

This is also how I block number on Moto G 2014 with Android 5.0 !!!!

I think there should be a better way to lock numbers !

But your workaround likes me a lot Winking_Face really smart

Hi,

So I'm fairly new to the Sony Xperia Z5 phone. I used to have a Samsung phone, and it had a call blocking feature in-built into the settings. I could usually just block the spam number by pulling up the side menu in the Phone/Call area. I am fairly annoyed that Sony doesn't have this feature.

I have read from others that I have to either download a third party app, or add the spam number to my contacts list and then tick the option 'Send calls to voicemail' or something similar. Neither of which are particularly attractive options. I get a lot of spam calls, and would like a convenient and fast way to block such numbers.

My question is: Will there be an in-built call blocking feature in the future, preferably sometime soon?

Having recently switched to the Z5C from a Nokia Lumia, I am finding call blocking to be a huge problem.  Stock Android (and even my old Lumia) allows for numbers to be added to a blocking list by simply long-pressing any number in the call log.  Why did Sony remove this stock Android feature from the Z5C?
