This is really surprising, today i just checked in sonymobile website and i found that the lastest Android release mentioned there is
Android version: Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)
Latest available software: 23.5.A.0.570
http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaz2/software/
So i check in my mobile for the availability of new software but unforutnately it was not available, and also i checked connecting my mobile through Xperia Companion and it says the same old message your mobiile is having the latest Android.
Attached is the screen shot.
Its unbeleivable from Sony that they are putting in website something that they have not released to all the regions Globally.
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can see that on a program called XperiFirm (you may know it as you said you once downloaded a standalone firmware). Search for it on XDA forums and once you choose your device in it you'll get a full list of customizations.
Dear Brother
The above post mentioned by you, yes I am seeing in thier at regular intervals, and also at the same time checking in Xperia Companion.
I need an advise from you. My Z2 is two years old, and Alhumdulilah there is no problem at all as of today, is it really advisable to change from Z2 to any other sony new models. If I have to select between Z5 or Z5 premium (wihch one is better)
It's all up to you, Z2 ia a great phone, but tech-wise the Z5 family are more advances. They have a better and faster processor and they are well known for their new camera technology (faster focus and image stabilization).
Take a look here:
If you are into big phones then go for the premium, it's also a shiny metallic phone. If you want the same size as your Z2 then go for the normal Z5. Both share the same specs except for he screen size and resolution.
Dear Brother
I hope there are no heating issues with both the models. As far as my Z2 is concerned there is no heating at all, how much I use or download all day.
regading the dual sim in both the models, one slot is 4G and other 2G if i am not mistaken, actually this is a drawback for me, because if you want to use internet on both the sims (depending on type of packages one has) then it cannot be used. I wish the dual sim has slot 1 (4G) and slot 2 (3G)
Dual SIM functionality is different than what you mentioned. I used a Z3 Dual, and the you can switch the primary SIM from inside software. If you want to use Internet on SIM 1, you'll go to Settings -> Dual SIM settings and set SIM 1 as primary. This will make SIM 1 function as both voice and Internet at 4G speed and SIM 2 as voice only at 2G speed.
At anytime you need to reverse that you just go back to settings and switch to SIM 2 as primary, which will enable Internet at 4G speed on it but allows only voice on SIM 1 on 2G speed.
The technically both SIM slots are capable of performing on 4G speed and using Internet, you just choose which one from Settings.
For heating issue: my Z5 only heats when recording 4K video, other than that it's normal or a bit warm.
Dear Brother
Thanks for all your help and guidance.
Really Appreciate... :smileyhappy::smileysmileythumbsup:
