Because Whatsapp is a third party application there is limited support I can offer, but I will give you some basics.
Try resetting Whatsapp. To do this please go to Settings > Apps > Whatsapp > Force Stop > Storage > Clear Data. Restart your phone and see if that resolves the issue. If not, uninstall and re-install Whatsapp.
If that does not help then I recommend you contact Whatsapp for further assistance.
