My Z3 Compact upgraded to 5.0.2 two days ago in Hong Kong, Have the same charging issue with DK48 charging dock. Can only charge up to 77%, after reboot as adviced here, can only charge up to 83% now. Can charge to 100% only if charging directly via USB slot. Please fix it, thanks!
I got the charging dock problem solved by switching to the SONY short USB cable instead (Now can charge to 100%). That means Lollipop upgrade will make some types of USB cables unusable (My previous 3 meters long USB cable works perfectly well before the Lollipop upgrade). However, my problem is still not totally solved yet, because the SONY cable that comes my with phone is not long enough to reach my charging dock on the desk (I need a 2 meters cable), can you tell me what kind of 2 meters long USB cables should I buy for the use of chaging my Lollipop Xperia Z3 Compact via Charging Dock? Or is it Lollipop upgraded phone can only be charged using short USB cables? Thanks!
I had a similar problem when I first installed Lollipop. It was solved completely and permenantly when I did a fresh clean installation via PC Companion Repair phone option. Better than Factory reset.
I wonder if there's a way where I won't lose any data. Using repair will delete all my data as well.
@billycoy Just take back up of your phone using PC Companion and then repair your phone. After you have have repaired, restore to get your content back,
I tried a lot of stuff, so I just backed up my data and repaired.
Hello,
just to join the club: Same problem Sony Z3 compact, when charging and the battery level reaches ~90% the phone switches between "Charging" and "Dis-charging", the indicator light is blinking with 1-2 Hz (varying). That started occurring after the Lollipop (android 5.0) update and happens both with the charging dock and the original USB wall charger connected directly to the phone.
model: D5803
android: 5.0.2
build: 23.1.A.1.28
production week: 14W41
so I already run the update that came last week, and it didn't help - unfortunately.
First I was a bit sad and thought my phone/battery is broken - but after reading all this, it seams like its a bug - so kind of good news.
There were quite some suggestions on what to do, but before hard-resetting my phone (and erasing all data) I would like to hear something official from Sony - does this really solve the problem? Some users here report it does not? So does it?
I would appreciate for ANY official information from Sony! If it's the hand set, that's broken - fine, I can buy a new one; if it's the software - also fine, I can wait for an update - But please tell us something!
Regards from Norway
