Contacts stock app crashes

Hi there,

Since I updated to marshmallow, my contact app crashes as soon as I start searching / typing a single letter.

I already tried cleaning the cache, force stop and even system repair. The contacts app works fine for 2 or 3 days, then the same problem appears.

If I start the phone in safe mode, the app works fine and this also lasts for 2-4 days (in normal mode).

I already thought, it might conclude with the missing sync feature of the present facebook android app, because facebook disabled connection / sync with 3rd party apps.

Anyone facing the same problem?

After updating to Marshmallow 6.0.1, my Xperia Z5 dual's Contacts app crashes when I try to open and view a contact.  I found if I take my sim cards out of the z5, then the Contacts app doesn't crash.  Obviously I need my sim cards in the phone.  Sony please look into this!!!

The reason why it was removed because I dared to say that Apple iPhone was looking better by the day. Is Sony that insecure and thin-skinned? It's sure looking that way to me!

I understand your frustration but your behavior it's beyond deplorable.

I discovered something which might help you to get this fixed.

I believe it has something to do with the SIM card. I was traveling US and had my Ultra SIM in my phone, then my phone start having problem with the Contacts app keep on crashing.

When I swapped the SIM card back to my original SIM then the problem does away.

I have not check it has something to do with the contacts stored inside the SIM as I do not have time to run the test. will share my finding once I have time.

Hi everyone, I desperately needed help with my xperia z5 premium. I just bought my z5 premium a week ago and when I first turned it on, the phone update asked me to update the software to Marshmallow and I did the update.

Now I'm having a big problem with my contact. Every few hours, the contact becomes error and stop by itself. When this occurs, all my call log and contact lists are gone and nothing I could do. Sometimes the phone restarts by itself but sometimes I need to restart by myself in order to gain back my contact back to normal. This is very annoying. Could someone help me how to fix this problem? I ran the phone diagnostic program and it shows some logs of program contact having errors but showing no advise of how to solve this.

Hope I could get some answers here.

Ahh seems here all are having the same problem. So what I've read the best solutions for now is using the third party dialer huh?

Hmm what an odd thing for such an expensive phone as I've been dreaming of getting this new phone. Come on Sony, fix this bug. Cheers.
