Can't sync iPhoto albums with Sony Bridge for Mac

When I connect the Sony Xperia Z3 compact to the mac the Sony Bridge for Mac shows up. I select the option to explore iPhoto. At first nothing shows up (Sony developers, it would be nice to at least show a spinner or progress bar) but after a while events appear. However all other picture categories (faces, albums, pictures or last importation) don't show up.

Since I prefer to organize pictures by albums rather than events I can't sync anything, as I have no options to check. I'm using Sony Bridge for Mac 3.8.3(3831) and iPhoto 9.5.3 (902.17). Does somebody know how to solve this?

Hi,

Still no success getting SBFM to recognize iPhoto library.

iPhoto alone is working fine. I even trashed the iApps.plist. Opened iPhoto again and restarted.

I understand this can have something to do with restoring from TimeMachine. I have done this lately. But iPhoto works fine.

I tried now to install Sony Bridge for Mac on another machine running OS X 10.10. I can easily browse my iPhoto library from SBFM on that machine without connecting the Xperia Z3. So something is hanging some place, some bad pointers somewhere.

SBFM New installation -> iPhoto recognized fine.

SBFM Old installation -> iPhoto library not recognized

Hi, I thought the new version of Sony Bridge for Mac would solve this problem but I still can not see anything in my iPhoto library.

I have tried again to delte SBM app and all preferences and reinstalled. Still nothing shows up in "Iphoto Library". Nothing.

Strange thing that this works fine on another MacBook Pro I have also running OS X 10.10. Where is this setting for iPhoto stored? Is there some place I can manually edit it?

Very frustrating as it should work on my main Mac. It just doesn't.

Sony Bridge for Mac is not very clever app.

It try to find library name iPhoto library from pictures.

If you use Aperture which use same photo library as iPhoto the name of library can be Aperture Library and Sony Bridge for Mac can't find it.

So you photos library name must be iPhoto Library if you wish Sony Bridge to find you pictures.

Below is my iApps.plist and Bridge for Mac can't find any photos.

_iPhotoAutoImportPath_iPhotoRecentDatabases_iTunesRecentDatabases_iPhotoLastOpenedDatabase_iTunesRecentDatabasePaths_ApertureLastOpenedDatabase_ApertureLibraries_=/Users/Delli/Pictures/iPhoto-kirjasto.photolibrary/Auto Import°

Hi, I am having the same problem with syncing my music!

The app says that you can sync music from your itunes and I've watched videos of people doing it so I know I'm not doing anything wrong but for some reason, the app won't read my itues at all.

No music appears, no playlists, nothing, even when I have itues open and I can see all the music in my library nothing appears on Sony Bridge app. I can however, see my photos. It seems odd that it will read one and not the other.

I have tried closing the app, taking the phone out and replugging it in and re-installing the app. Nothing works.

Did you find a solution to your picture syncing problem? I was hoping I might be able to fix my problem a similar way.

Any suggestions or any other ways to sync my music?

Thanks. =D

Hi Jessiebunny3!

A new release of BFM is out now. I don't think is on auto update through bridge for mac yet.

But you can download it from Sonys’ webpage.

The new version should be able to sync with bridge for mac.

Please send me a pm if you still have a problem after updating bridge for mac.

Best regards

Fredrik

Folks:

Unable to see my photos in SBFM (v4.4).  I'm on OS X El Capitan (10.11.4).  I was able to do an import of my photos from my Sony Xperia Z5 to Apple Photos.  I can see the import from Apple Photos.

However I do not see the import of the rest of my photos in Photos in the SBFM iPhoto Library.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

this seems like a suitable thread where to write this question...

I want to import my photos from my Sony Z1 compact to iphoto via Bridge for Mac. However the iphoto option isn't available. The only option available is "photos".

So I've tried to import them several times. The first couple of times I was told there is an error. Today when I try and import them the blue downloading line reaches the end and then Bridge for Mac quits unexpectedly. Possibly it's quitting like that today because I've had problems with my cursor. However there is still the problem of importing the photos onto iphoto. I have no idea where the photos are being imported to as I can't find them in any of my files.

I hope someone can help.

Thanks!
