Battery failure

After of only moderate use, the battery performance of my Xperia Z5 Premium deteriorated markedly, and then a few weeks ago stopped functioning altogther . As the unit was still within guarantee, I called Sony support in order to send the unit in for the repalcement of the Battery.

But I couldn't do a final download of the vital file content because the unit was totally dead, and Sony insisted that they would "wipe" the entire contents as a matter of policy, which would have been VERY inconvenient for me. (Sony would have had to install a new battery first - in order to then wipe the files in the phone!!)

So I went to a local repairer in South West London, who charged me the sum of £25 to replace the battery. The unit was returned in perfect working order, and with ALL my files and photos intact.

A small price to pay for allowing my life to resume as it was before, even if Sony will not honour the balnce of the original guarantee.
