Dear Team,
I have bought new Z5 Dual 4 days back and I am really disappointing battery drain when particularly screen on and also while listening music also. Its getting drain very badly and not even come one day, even I did repair my mobile and not installed any third party app. Screen on time is very bad and hardly I will get one day battery. Please help us to fix issue specially at the time of using moble only battery getting drain very fast. For 30 minutes playing music consumiing 4% battery and its not at all good.
I am big fan of sony, but really hate sony now for doing bad software update and I have wasted my money of 39K by buying z5 dual mobile and before I was using moto x play 100% better then sony with in 20K budget. I took a stupid decision buying z5.
Can you please let me know when new software update of 6.0.1 will release and also what's future update of Android N. Why sony always very very slow on updating new software and bug fixes also.
Kindly please don't say I don't have information of new software update, if you are going to say something, better don't replay to my email. I hate to hear that you are not aware of it.
Many people love sony mobile, so please work and don't loose your customers and company reputation.
Please update if any new software and also help on bug fix issue resolution at the earliest. I hope you have understood my concerns and hope sony team will look into it.
Thank you and looking forward to see great new phones and also quick software updates. Thank you
Thanks & regards,
Damodar Reddy
You guys need to start posting screenshots of battery usage and explaining why you think you have a battery drain, what's your expectation.
For instance, I get 4-5 sot over 1-2 days with light to moderate usage.
However, for what i can tell, what kills the sot are:
video recording (maybe 1h30 from 100% ?)
hangouts video chat (2 hrs ?)
I put an interrogation mark cause never tried to deplete the battery this way, nor that it'd work as my z5 would overheat and stop long before that.
Otherwise, more generic battery drainers are:
- applications that misbehave (just the other day I had an app, well rated too, that just took the location sensor when got in the background (I exited it with back button). Half an hour later, the location was still on)
- bad data signal and consequently misbehaving apps downloading little bits every few minutes.
Conversely, some generic solutions that come to mind:
- clear whole app cache (from storage/apps cache) every now and then
- reboot your phone once a week or so
- calibrate your battery once a month or every 2 months (deplete the battery to less than 5%, shut it down then wall charge to full and reboot it while plugged, then unplug when fully started)
- disable location scanning (settings/location/scanning)
- restrict background data in settings/data usage) if on mobile data. For what I can tell google music still works.
Finally, keep an eye on your apps. take a look at the running services every once in a while and judge for yourself if it's worth staying in the background. If not, delete/disable. As you'd expect, more apps you have, more chances of battery drainage.
If it's not too much, I suggest starting fresh, factory reset or xc repair, don't restore any apps data but install them a few at a time and monitor the battery usage.
