Battery drains when screen is on

Dear Team,

I have bought new Z5 Dual 4 days back and I am really disappointing battery drain when particularly screen on and also while listening music also. Its getting drain very badly and not even come one day, even I did repair my mobile and not installed any third party app. Screen on time is very bad and hardly I will get one day battery. Please help us to fix issue specially at the time of using moble only battery getting drain very fast. For 30 minutes playing music consumiing 4% battery and its not at all good.

I am big fan of sony, but really hate sony now for doing bad software update and I have wasted my money of 39K by buying z5 dual mobile and before I was using moto x play 100% better then sony with in 20K budget. I took a stupid decision buying z5.

Can you please let me know when new software update of 6.0.1 will release and also what's future update of Android N. Why sony always very very slow on updating new software and bug fixes also.

Kindly please don't say I don't have information of new software update, if you are going to say something, better don't replay to my email. I hate to hear that you are not aware of it.

Many people love sony mobile, so please work and don't loose your customers and company reputation.

Please update if any new software and also help on bug fix issue resolution at the earliest. I hope you have understood my concerns and hope sony team will look into it.

Thank you and looking forward to see great new phones and also quick software updates. Thank you

Thanks & regards,
Damodar Reddy

Hi Dam1

I have the same problem and I strongly hope it could be solved!

My battery barely lasts from 8am to 3pm and the most I do is listen to music.

Hope Sony could solve the issue. My feedback about the product is definitely negative so far

Same here as well. I'll have the screen down to minimum brightness, all I'll be using it for is music with data and wifi all turned off. On Saturday it dropped from 70% to 15% in the space of just three hours of listening to music and doing nothing else - and that was with a 20% boost from an external battery as well!

I don't know what Sony has done but frankly I'm not impressed. The only reason I have a Z5 is because my Z1 battery literally died as soon as it updated to Lollipop. They delayed the Marshmallow firmware on the Z5 for ages to iron out the kinks, then as soon as it was updated these battery depletion issues happen. I have unlimited data that I can't use. Today, to add insult to injury, the rear glass on the screen got a massive crack in it despite never having been dropped or remotely mistreated. The phone is barely two thirds of a year old and it's already in more of a state than my Z1 was after more than two years.

Unless they somehow manage to fix these battery depletion issues it'll be the last Sony phone I'm buying. They're either cutting corners, or using cheaper parts or something as the phone's just can't handle it. Also considering the ugly material design look they've gone for which is far inferior to what they used to do... I feel conned having bought a premium product that's actually worse than ones that cost half as much.

I have the same issue. And the phone used to be good at battery consumption but afew weeks after marshmallow the battery started to drain badly. I miss stamena mode it was useful I hope Sony sort it out other wise this is a stain on Sony

Hi Gizmodave,

Thank you.... for your replay.

Yes... I too agree with you definitely Negative product and simply we are wasting our valuable money.

Even my friend also having same problem and we bought together and we are sufferring a lot. I am wonderring why sony not working anything on bug fix.

And also not sure when they will release 6.0.1, because I read news saying around 400 bug fixes sony working on it, but not sure when they are going to release. If they could bring back stamina mode would be greatly appriciated.

Hi Talh,

Definetely I agree with you and now a days numbers of smarphones coming with lesser than sony having all wonderfull features. Before I was using Motorola and its very good mobile and also they are very fast release updates.

Not sure why SONY silent and no updates as of today from SONY. Being a good reputed compnay and they are not looking customer satisfaction.... If continues same means sony loosing brand value.

The new software update is not solving the battery issue, instead it is getting worse. Sony please sort this issue other wise you will loose alot of customers

Yap, know what you are talking about.

Just a week ago, my Z5 Dual was running fantastic , no battery drainage. After the latest update, everything went downhill.  I bet...it will take months to fix all the mess left behind.

Any news about the battery drain fix or new update from Sony. This is really bad from Sony at least they should let us know about the problem and keep us in the dark. My next phone will never be a Sony. More than a month I have been waiting for the fix for the battery issue. I was a Sony customer I have a Sony lap top z2 experia and Z5 dual sim phones. If this go on for long my next phone will never be Sony that is for sure.
