Battery drain on Xperia Z3 dual since Marshmallow install

I know there have been a few posts about this already, but just to add weight to them. The battery on my dual sim Xperia Z3 is draining around about 25% faster than it did before I upgraded to Marshmallow. I would usually get a day and a bit usage out of the phone, but am now getting less than a day. I have screenshots of the battery graph and the report from gsam battery monitor which shows that the screen seems to be responsible. I'll try to post these screenshots somewhere.

@Kevin

before reverting back to 5.0.1. try to backup all your contents on an SD card or USB flash memory, remove your SIM card from the device and also the SD card. Repair the device by reinstalling the software by using PC Companion. Do that and send me the results. otherwise if you decided to revert, you can use the flashing tools, and download the version 5.01 as ftf file. note that this flashing process would cause to lose any waranty for the device.

Hello Kevin,

Try to optimize the Battery usage by going to settings > battery usage > click on the three points at the right angle of the display > select Battery Optimization. Try to optimize for all applications and tell us the results

I have same problem here.

I tried to check Battery Optimization and seems all aps has beed optimized except for Anonymous Usage Stats and Google Play Services. But my battery keeps draining fast even not used or screen was off.

I noticed as well that when I play games and stopped by turning off the screen, the game seems still running on the background ang caused my phone to raise temperature in my pocket.

Need help here...

Same here.  All apps are optimised.  Had my phone at 100% when i got up at 6.30 this morning. Checked my phone before I left the house for work at 8.10 am and battery was down to 70%.  I hadn't used it once during that time.

Seems there's a Google "Doze" function installed on Marshmallow which apparently does the same job that Sony's awesome Stamina Mode used to do.  Problem with that is two-fold though - a) you can't enable/disable it and b) it clearly doesn't work.

Please bring back Stamina mode in the next update!!!

Sari, I've checked the app optimisation, and like the others, all apps are optimised except Google play services and sophos security.

I tried disabling one of the sims in the phone, and that seems to have helped a little, but obviously it's not ideal. I've also found that the phone gets very hot at times, even when not in use. Furthermore, I've now find that the battery drain is very inconsistent. On some days the battery can be down to 50% after just a few hours of minimal usage, whilst on other days the battery is still at 70% by the time I get home from work.

I think I'd also like to revert back to the previous version of the firmware. I've been using android since 2.0 and have never found an update that made things worse rather than better. Is there an easy way to revert to 5.1?
