I got the latest Android update yesterday, so my handset's now running Android 6.0.1. Previously I could swipe up from the home button to access Google Now, but this no longer works, and when I try and activate 'Now on Tap' in the phone's settings, the toggle is completely greyed out. Is this to be expected? Should Now on Tap be working on the Z3 Compact in the UK?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@parkerdigital, alright. In that case try this, go to Settings > Accoungs > Google > Your gmail-address > ... > Remove account > Restart the phone and log in with your Google account again. The from the homescreen press and hold the home-button again, are you able to turn on Now on Tap? If not, have you tried rebooting to safe mode?
Hi @parkerdigital,
Go to Settings > Apps > Cogwheel > Default apps > Assist & voice input > Assist app. Make sure that you have the Google App set as default here.
Have you tried activating the Now on Tap directly from your homescreen? Press and hold the Home-button for a second or two and a popup should appear with the option to turn on Now on Tap.
Hi there Didrik,
Thanks for the reply. I already have the Google App set as default in the location you describe, and if I press and hold the home button nothing happens at all, whereas I could previously swipe up from here to access Google Now
now on tap only works in English(US)
try to change your system language to English (unites states)
