XZ2 Premium to cost a whopping $1000

What the heck is Sony thinking? Who are they trying to target with this price? They're not gonna make Galaxy users switch that's certain. The 256 gb model of the S9+ is 950. Ok so the XZ2 Premium should be just as good as the 9Plus so you might think that the 1000 dollar price tag is reasonable but Samsung is a bigger brand, Sony is tiny compared to them especially in the US and if they want people to buy their phone than they need to price it more competitvely.

I think $850 is more than fair. I was looking forward to upgrading and I likely will but I'll probably pick up a used version on Ebay. Tell if you agree or disagree and remember these are just my personal views.

I have the XZ Premium and the display is excellent. The 2 Premium shouldn't be any different. If there is an issue I'm sure they'll address it

I was a sonyboy for years and after i switched my xz after 8 months tragedy i was done and want a change.going for a G6 i used it for 14months.Xz1 ,Xz2 idiot fingerprint and lack of jack, double tap to wake and fm radio was gone and the xz2p did not even got me with that dual lens now. So got G7 now allot cheaper with SD 845 to, One hand to handle attleast compared to that brick,Double tap to wake! Headphone jack!  Boomspeaker,quad dac, fm radio, dual camera, also waterproof.and a healthy reacheable fingerprint on the back. The extra other 400euro is for the screen you pay?! Overpriced device again!!! So no more Sony to me and save allot of monney.🙂

Good that you ask🙂After the Xz1 released that was just the Xz copy,came Xz2. I thougt happend to that back fingerprint? I read screen issues and bottom speaker flaws. Meanwile i was carefull with the g6 if i did good or not leaving sony. And still after buying the dual sim G6 asian model(stupid me,better of EU) wich i still own i and runs flawless and no hardware issues, i upgraded for the europe G7 tru lack of Security updates otherwise i would stick a other year with it what i never could with sony. But a big plus on Sony for each month they provided that! Now L G do recently better in updates 2 months ago. I follow up the other next flagships allot to see any improvements why i would go back to Sony. So Why i prefer a G7 after G6 instead of a Sony again? They improve Seriously and not with lost usefull features. Pure Value for less money to me. Just saw the specs at The Xz3 would come in august. So why bring on Xz2 complete same model few months ago and now launch a dual camera that is a cheaper copy to Xz2p. Who is the flagship i ask myself? It confuse me and other buyers in a way

It's strange why people complained about price whenever it's a Sony but no one say a thing when Apple charge a fortune for their X so they are now a trillion worth company? Samsung charge lesser for S9 becos it has changed little from S8. But do you get a wireless ear buds or headphone which Sony throw in to sweeten the deal for XZ2P? The different between XZ2 & XZ3 is that both are different. This maybe Sony's final 4K screen as they are adopting 2K screen from XZ3 onwards. Sony will not put a double cam for XZ3 since they will put in a world first 48MP sensor. Sony phones are never known for ascetics. But their innovation is always what the bigger phone makers are looking at. Water resistance, 960fps slow mo etc. Next year you will see Samsung tout their cam are able to take 51200 ISO pics too. So buying Sony is a preference. This, will be my fourth.

Why argue over a price.

When I like something I sniff on it, feel it, sense it and then I buy it.

Even if other things are far better  or have better specifications, I don't care.

I like it, I love it, it is mine.

This can be true for an iphone X, a moto G, an Xperia L or for the RPI 3+ I bought last week.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium would have been perfect if they had kept the fingerprint as the power button on the side of the phone and also kept the headphone jack 😠. They Seriously might have lost for good with these design choices unfortunately and I have been using Sony Phones since the Sony Ericsson days. And if they ever decide to add a notch to the screen lol that would definitely be the nail in the coffin for me. And it is really unfortunate because Sony's technology is so innovative but they always find a way to implement that tech in a way that is annoying or lack luster. I really hope they go back to not caving in to what other companies do and give their customers phones with designs and tech with out compromises.

Why no more fingerprint sensor on power button? Thinner bezel. Else there will be another complain why Sony so old fashion. Why no headphone jack? Type-C. All phones are adopting this latest USB type so don't understand what's the complain since this port is also a media port. Sony has always been said to be slow in following trends but seriously, whose trend? Apple? Samsung? Sony is always very consistent in setting about their style and design. The fact that XZ2P was halted from release is to continue the new style. There will always be people who dislike it.
