I'll start by saying this feature with my previous cell phone, a Samsung S4 Mini, worked fine.
I just got a new Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact.
My home phone system is a Panasonic KX-TGF570 with 5 handsets and it supports Link2Cell via Bluetooth. This feature lets you pair up to 2 cell phones via Bluetooth. I use this feature to announce incoming phone calls and text messages to my cell throughout the house to all the Panasonic handsets that are scattered about the house.
I love this feature because I don't have to carry my cell everywhere I go in my own house to hear there is an incoming call or text to my cell.
The XZ2 Compact pairs with the Panasonic just fine. And phone calls to my cell are correctly announced via the Panasonic handsets. But text messages are not. So I keep missing the text messages.
In looking at the XZ2 Compact's settings, it clearly shows "Call audio, Contact sharing, and Message Access" is enabled for the paired "Panasonic" device.
Am I missing some setting? Do I need to install some app? I didn't with the S4. Any help would be appreciated.
Solved! Go to Solution.
@Bill_Brighttry going to Settings > System > About phone, and tap Build number field seven times.
Then go to Settings > System > Developer options > Bluetooth AVRCP Version and try changing it to 1.4 or 1.5, reboot your device and see if it helps.

Thanks for the reply!
At first, I thought you were sending my on a while goose chase with the 7 presses but then I saw what was happening.
I changed it to 1.5 and will now have to wait and see what happens. I will report back. FTR, it was set to 1.6 even though it said 1.4 was the default. If 1.5 does not work, I will try 1.4 then let you know.
Thanks again.
Sadly, neither 1.4 or 1.5 helped. I tried both (all 3 actually) several times, rebooting and repairing the house phone between each time as well.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Okay, now I am confused. After doing nothing after my post yesterday to either my Sony cell or my Panasonic home phone, suddenly today, text message announcements from my contacts are being properly sent from the cell to the home phone.
FWIW, I am still on Bluetooth AVRCP Version 1.5 and plan to leave it there.
Thanks for the help.
Just realized it is not working today. This is getting frustrating. I have made no changes to either phone.
I have had the same problem, but with my car, have paired xz2 to car,and then turned bluetooth off on XZ2, as it should be visible to devices paired with.
Bluetooth not paired to car ,unless I turn bluetooth on the xz2 and leave it,on, it should be paired and work, when I turn off bluetooth on sony device
@Peterr1I don't understand what you're talking about. are you expecting the phone and the car to be paired with Bluetooth turned off on one of the devices?
