XZ2 compact availability in india
Unfortunately, we will not be able to help or give advice on the availability of specific products as these topics vary greatly between different markets/regions. So I'd strongly advise that you get in contact with your Local support and discuss the issue with them, as they are well-informed about your region's available phones more than us on this global, user-based forum.
Hi @Karidi, welcome to our forum and I'm glad to hear that you are interested in an Xperia XZ2 Compact!
From what I can see, the device is not listed as one of the available models on the Sony Mobile India website.
As @Quester mentioned, availablity differs between markets / regions and since this is a Global user based forum, contacting your Local support team will result in a much more detailed answer as they are the experts on your market.
Let us know how it went!
Hello Sony, I have just learned the hard way that XZ2 compact is not compatible with JIO the biggest VoLTE service provider in India. I can access the internet but I am unable to make or receive phone calls. Also unable to send and receive text messages. It is surreal in this day and age when companies go out of their way to ensure compatibility ... Sony is in the VHS / Betamax or the BlueRay / HD-DVD mentality. Always will have to check and double check before buying sony products before throwing good money.
Do we have any information on the release date of xperia xz2 compact in India.
Since this is a global user based forum, it'll be better to contact Sony directly Local support
The Hardware supports HD Voice and VoLTE. But then again, to use it your service provider should enable it...
Hi Gandhi,
i am also in same situation as you but with deiffrent device. it's not the problem with hardware or networkprovider for volte(jio). the sony software should be updated. When you inserted a new sim into phone according to the firmware in the phone it will set up the new modem settings , thats why the phone restarts everytime when we insert sim. Since xz2 compact not availble in india, we don't have indian firmware also which eneables the momdem seetings for jio. The possiible solution is- flash the xz2 indian firmware to compact (anyway bith harwares are identical) by using the new flashtool. i tried to do the same for my xz3 (flashed severals regions firmwares but all the results are negative, because i need india specific firmware which not going to happen. hope this helps. i'm not responsible, if your device became hardbrick(usually it don't).
Else sony should push generic modem related software as it is available on all AOSP roms. where we can define our own ims settings.
Since i don't have my xz3 with me i am unable to do this experiment(flash indian xz2 firmware to xz3).
Let me know if it helps.
